This homepage is the launch point for BeHistorical AP World: a practical teaching hub for daily lessons, source work, lecture notes, and AP skill practice.
Written for this class rather than adapted from a textbook. Each chapter goes deeper than the First & 10 for its topic, because the checkpoints ask you to explain how something worked and why it mattered, and a name is not a mechanism. Free, and always here when you need it.
Each topic page is built to move from reading and modeling to collaboration and independent AP practice.
Each image card opens a unit hub page with all of the topics for that unit. The Foundations card launches the pre-1200 bridge unit before Unit 1.
A five-meeting bridge unit on the first civilizations, belief systems, classical empires, trade networks, and the world by c.1200.
Regional state building and cultural developments, c. 1200 to c. 1450.
Trade routes, travelers, technology, and cultural diffusion.
Imperial expansion, belief systems, and methods of rule.
Exploration, maritime empires, and global exchange.
Political, economic, and intellectual transformations.
Imperialism, migration, and global economic change.
World wars, total war, and political disruption.
New states, rival ideologies, and global realignment.
Technology, economics, culture, and global challenges.
This course hub uses public historical images from Wikimedia Commons source pages and the BeHistorical brand system. Individual lesson pages include more specific source links and document-based activities.
